Faze 3 was an independent high street shop that traded between 1997 and 2006 — a different era for town centres, before online shopping reshaped everything.
We began in a smaller shop near the theatre, full of shelves and curiosities, but after three years we moved opposite St. Paul’s Church to gain more space and be closer to the heart of town. The extra room meant more discoveries, more colour and many more carefully chosen pieces.
We specialised in unusual and distinctive gifts. Many of our products were sourced from small makers and artisan workshops around the world. We were always drawn to craftsmanship, originality and things you simply didn’t see everywhere else.
Over the years we curated hundreds of carefully selected product lines, including:
Faze 3 was a shop people often described as “somewhere different” — the kind of place you could browse for half an hour and still spot something new on the way out.
This website now serves as an archive of those product ranges. We are gradually restoring and expanding the individual product pages to document the original collections and preserve a record of the creativity and specialist gift lines that defined the shop.

Would it be possible to open a shop like this again? Who knows. The high street has changed and perhaps that particular moment has passed. But if what we’ve shared here inspires someone else to create something similar, we’d be first in the queue to visit.
We started this site as a bit of fun well over 10 years ago so unfortunately it’s not responsive. If you look on your phone in landscape, it’s just about readable.
