We actually started selling these maps before we ever opened our shop. Many were sold from our reception at Rhos Press (Printers). I think they were what gave us the “bug” to start looking for interesting and unusual gifts to sell from the future Faze 3.
The maps are no longer produced on the specially aged paper but using modern specialist printing techniques, The Old Map Company still supply a huge range of colourful maps to suit every taste.
I’m glad I kept a good selection of the County maps -
Speede’s maps, in most cases, were the first such record made and are counted as his most important contribution to British cartography.
As well as showing towns, villages and boundaries as they were during the reign of Elizabeth I, he portrayed the first aerial views of many cities and embellished his work with a wealth of heraldic detail, decoration, illustration of battles and royal portraits which he crafted into an elaborate work of art.

They were all faithfully reproduced onto specially created paper, each map being hand treated to obtain the texture, appearance and aged aroma of an old historical document.
